I just recently arrived here in SD and I needed some service for my car. I only saw what top rated car mechanic in this area and let me tell you the ratings and reviews don’t lie. This 5 out 5 stars indeed. Phong was so pleasant to talk to and shared knowledge.
Easy to book an appointment, often available the same day. Service is quick and efficient—my smog test was done in about 15 minutes, just as other reviews said. The owner is friendly and always takes the time to point out helpful details about my car, which I really appreciate.
Hands down the best auto shop I’ve ever been to. I’ve gone to TP for emissions testing, oil changes, brakes and rotor replacements, everything. They work incredibly fast and always try to take care of the customer. Always a pleasant interaction, good work, and a fair price. Couldn’t recommend more highly!
I called and got a smog check appointment day of and it was done within 30 min. Fast, easy, and professional!

Phong is very helpful and great at identifying additional issues. Replace my brakes and rotors for good price. Also took care of my serpentine belt. Had a hanging front fender which he fixed without any cost or mention. Came in to get my battery tested without an appointment. Phong took the time to test my battery although he was busy. Great shop!
Couldn’t recommend a mechanic more than this place! Moved down from LA and saw this place had great reviews and needed a few items done to my car. They were able to get my car in super fast and have the work completed in about 2 hours. Their pricing was great but most importantly their customer service made me feel like my concerns about my car were listened to and they didnt try to add on any unnecessary work. Having a mechanic that makes me feel like I’m not getting ripped off and my concerns are heard will be making me go back here for as long as I’m on SD!
Very friendly. Dealership was going to charge me thousands, but I walked out of here paying less than 600. Quick turnaround, and they were honest and professional, even if it meant not making as much money. Consider giving them your business, they'll work hard for it. I'll be coming back for all maintenance in the future. Don't let dealerships rip you off.
Fast, friendly, reasonably priced, great quality work, excellent customer service! What more could you ask for from any business? The thing that stands out the most is their communication. They are very responsive and will call you back quickly if they miss your call. I expect auto shops to be busy so do not mind when they don’t answer the phone right away, but T P Auto definitely raised the standards! This will definitely be our auto shop from now on!
They always do an amazing job on my car, but this time they really went above and beyond! I needed to get my front bumper spoilers put on, and they had it ready super quick—like in under an hour. Plus, Cindy is the best when it comes to customer service. She's really friendly and explains everything about the work they did. Big thanks to you guys for your awesome service!
